Packing Lists for MTB & Road/Gravel Camps

Please put your name on every item you don’t want to lose. A permanent marker or labels work great.

MTB Camps

Mountain bike that fits the rider, is clean, and thoroughly prepared for technical terrain. Highly recommend a professional tune-up before camp, especially making sure tires (new and aggressive tread highly recommended), drivetrain (chain, cassette, chainring), brakes/pads, fork/shocks, dropper post are in excellent condition. If you run tubeless tires, please top off with a couple ounces of sealant in each tire. While we’ll have tools and some extra parts for basic repairs, no one wants to walk out of the woods (or sit out a day) due to preventable issues. Think of it as preparing your bike for a 5-day endurance stage race.

Repair kit: on every ride, you must carry a spare tube, tire levers, plugs (if tubeless), CO2/inflator/pump, and a mini-tool. Plus anything else your bike requires for trailside repairs, e.g. a quick link for the type of chain you ride.

Parts specific to your bike for unforeseen repairs. For example: extra tire, hanger, chain,

tubes, spokes, shoe cleats (if clipless), brake pads, batteries. If you happen to have an extra rear
derailleur, bring it just in case (but don't go buy one).

Strongly recommend a hydration pack because you'll need to carry the equivalent of two full water bottles per ride, and a pack can also carry food and your mandatory repair kit.

Road/Gravel Camp

Road or Gravel bike that fits the rider, is clean, and geared for mountainous terrain. Highly recommend a professional tune-up before camp, especially making sure tires, drivetrain (chain, cassette, chainring), and brakes/pads are in excellent condition. We’ll have tools and some parts for basic repairs.

If opting for the hybrid gravel option: road and gravel tires/wheels to swap out, or you can ride gravel tires during our road rides.
